Colossians Chapter 1
Study Four:  Lesson Four -- "Taking it Easy"
Lesson Four: "Taking it Easy"

So....
You've finally had enough of GO-GO-GO. Your over-scheduled, always in a hurry, always lots to get done, always busy life has drained you of energy.

Your bank account can no longer tolerate SPEND-SPEND-SPEND. You're in debt up to your eyebrows, with no savings, and no cushion.

You suddenly have no desire to FIGHT-FIGHT-FIGHT for the biggest and the best. The big car eats gas, there is too much junk in the big house, and you are not willing to 'do what it takes' anymore.

So....
What do you do now?

You rest and reflect on where God wants you to go.  You thank God for the hard times that are allowing you to re-evaluate your life.  You let go of 'the world's' plan for your life, and create a new one.

But first -- you relax....take it easy. You need to do this to hear God's voice.

Assignment:    Find some time to relax this week...even if for a few hours.  Silence all distractions and ask God to speak to you.  Give God ALL your worries and concerns and REST.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."                      Matthew 11:28-30

Study Four:  “Great Endurance and Patience”

"And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,  being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience....."
Colossians 1:10-11

“Endurance and Patience – get real!”
This is how most women would react to this Scripture. This study looks at the many distractions that keep us from knowing God and “living a life worthy of the Lord.”

We will look at concepts such as “GO-GO-GO” (our over-scheduled lives); SPEND-SPEND-SPEND (our debt-ridden society); and, FIGHT-FIGHT-FIGHT (our never-ending quest for the biggest and the best).

Rewrite Your Script
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."
